Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Feb. 1926. Strawberry Point column.
The funeral services of Miss Mabel Gibbs, aged thirty-four years, were held at the M.E. church last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Robert of Hopkinton, and was probably the largest funeral held here for some time. Miss Gibbs had been a sufferer for two years and confined to her bed for the last seven months. During her long illness her parents tenderly and lovingly cared for her. She leaves to mourn her death her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gibbs; two sisters, Mrs. Lester Ball of Ida Grove, and Mrs. Ben Brockman of this place; and three brothers, Victor of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lennie, a teacher at Hopkinton, and Ray, at home; besides other relatives and a large circle of friends. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
