Cordelia Jane Smith Harbaugh passed away at her home in Elkport, January 8, 1926, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 27 days.
She was born in Clayton county, Iowa, January 11, 1860. When about sixteen years of age she joined the Dunkard church later transferring her membership to the United Brethern church at Fairview.
She was united in marriage to Daniel Harbaugh, October 2, 1877. To this union were born eleven children, ten of whom survive her, seven sons and three daughters. One daughter dying in infancy. The remaining children are Mrs. Jane Bowman of Toledo, Iowa, Mrs. Ethel May Hammon of Colesburg, Mrs. Cordelia Pearl Krepfler of Elkport, Aaron Jason of Garber, Roy and Ralph of Elkport, Daniel of Des Moines, Freddie of Greely, Clifford of Lynxville, Wis., and Asa D. of Greely, Iowa.
Mrs. Harbaugh has lived nearly all her life in Clayton county, faithful to all duties of life, earnest in her religion, a good wife and devoted mother; and will be greatly missed by all that know her.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, ten children, twenty-six grandchildren and one great- grandchild besides a host of friends.
The last golden sunrise
Has decked the eastern sky,
The last watch is ended;
Her redemption drawth near.The funeral services were held at the home at Elkport by Rev. Hollingshead of the U.B. church and interment was made at the Brown cemetery near Colesburg.
