Mr. Oleson was born in Clayton county, Iowa, March 23, 1857. and died at his home in Wagner township, Jan. 7, 1926, at 5 p.m. The cause of his death was cancer.
He has lived in Clayton county all of his life and on a farm place in Wagner township since he was 10 years old. His birth place was a short way east of St. Olaf.
He was united in marriage with Margaret Baumeister, June 6, 1886. To this union were born children which are all living. They are: Mrs. Phil Walters, Mrs. Elliot Olson, Arthur Clarence, Mrs. Oscar Torkelson, Millard Elmer, Lilly Rosealla and Bertha Viola, all of this community; and Mrs. Arthur Engelhardt of Lime Springs, Iowa.
He leaves to mourn him also two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Rondquest and Mrs. Carolina Bergan, and 22 grandchildren.
Even though his interest has centered on his own affairs and he has been much at home, he had many friends who speak highly of him as a neighbor. They also showed their regard by following his body to the grave. The Norway church was filled to capacity Sunday at 2:30 at his funeral.
