Clayton County Register, Thur., 22 Dec. 1932.

Mrs. Frank J. Uriell died at her home here late last Wednesday evening, December 14, following an illness of considerable duration.

Mrs. Mary (Ryan) Uriell was born in Negaunee, Mich., March 13, 1863, the daughter of Jeremiah and Ellen Ryan and so at the time of her death had reached the age of 69 years, nine months and one day.

She came to this county as a small child and since 1898 has been a resident of Elkader, where her friendly disposition gained for her a host of friends. Prior to coming to Elkader she resided in Monona.

In 1881 she was united in Marriage to Daniel O'Leary and to this union four children were born, namely, Dennis F., Mayme, Daniel and John P. O'Leary. Mr. O'Leary died in 1890. December 19, 1896, here in Elkader, she was married to F. J. Uriell, also of Elkader, and to this union four children were born: Michael, Frank, Florence and Mildred Uriell.

Mrs. Uriell is survived by her widower and five children, all but one of whom were present at the time of her death, although this one, Sister Francis Jerome, (Florence), had been here during her mother's illness. The surviving children are: Dennis F. O'Leary, Minneapolis; Daniel O'Leary, Dubuque; Frank Uriell, Chicago; Sister Francis Jerome, Milwaukee; and Mildred at Pittsburgh. One sister and one brother also survive, namely, Emma and James Ryan, both of Chicago.

Mrs. Uriell was a devout member of the Catholic church, of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and Christian Mothers and Daughters. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church here last Saturday forenoon and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rev. J P. Taken 0fficiating.

Mrs. Uriell was a quiet and unassuming woman. Her home and her children were her pride. She was a neighbor and a friend of the highest type and in her circle, where she was best known, she will be most missed.

Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Dennis F. O'Leary, Mrs. D. O'Leary, Walter Madden, Joseph M. Shelly and Edward Loring, all of Minnesota; Emma Ryan, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Uriell and son of Chicago; Mrs. Ellen Glennon, Rochester, Minn.; Miss Mildred Uriell, Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. O'Leary and sons Daniel and Mark and Mrs. Geo. Weigan and nephew of Dubuque.
