Mrs. Mary E. Bernhard, aged 74, died Saturday night in the Bernhard home in Monona, of heart trouble. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home to the First Methodist church at 1:45, Rev. Louis H. Joslin officiating, with burial in the city cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Willis L. Bernhard and Clarence G. Bernhard, and one daughter, Ellen, Mrs. Edward J. Fritz; a number of grandchildren, and five brothers, Henry and Edward L. Hupfer of Monona; Arthur Hupfer of Clinton; George Hupfer of Pasadena, Cal., and Frank B. Hupfer of Red Wing, Minn. A brother, Chas. F.. Hupfer, died last September. A number of other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bernhard was a wonderful mother, a true friend and beloved by all. She and her husband farmed for many years, later moving to Monona and later built the beautiful home where her last days were spent
