Eliza Ellenbolt was born in Elgin, Ill., Jan. 7, 1849. At the age of 14 she moved with her parents to Clayton county, Iowa, where she resided the rest of her life.

On Dec. 9, 1865, she was united in marriage with Nelson McGhee, who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1915. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Flora Marsh, McGregor; Mrs. Anna Parnell, Boscobel, Wis.; and E. H. McGhee, Elkader. She also mothered three step-children: James McGhee, who has preceded her in death; John McGhee and Beacher McGhee.

Mrs. McGhee was a member of the United Brethren church, having joined that church in her early married life, and remaining until the time of her death last Saturday morning, November 26, 1932, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 19 days.

The passing of Grandmother McGhee is mourned by her three children, two step-children, 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a large circle of friends, all of whom are comforted by the fact that her passing was the will of the Heavenly Father, who has called another one of His children to her home in eternal rest and peace.

The funeral service was held at the E. H. McGhee home in Elkader Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by the Rev. C. T. Brewster. Burial took place in the cemetery at Hardin, Iowa.
