Clayton County Register, Thur., 1 Dec. 1932.

Luana: Thanksgiving morning, while going after wood with a truck, Jeff Jones, it is thought, was taken with a heart attack, which caused the truck to veer into a ditch near the Geo. Sanders farm in Cheery Valley, with such force that his neck was broken. Dr. Kelleher of Postville was called, but he was beyond aid. The burial occurred Sunday afternoon. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Galloway of Postville at the Gooding church, where he was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery.
