Sarah A. Molumby died here in her home Friday morning at 12:45 of heart trouble after an illness of about five weeks.
She was born on a farm in Highland township, February 6, 1864, the daughter of Thomas and Anne Molumby. She attended the schools of her township later coming to Elkader, where she had made her home for the last 40 years, following the work of a dressmaker most of that time.
Though never married she was a mother to two of her nieces, Mrs. Walter Bink of this place and Sister Jeanine of Milwaukee, Wis., and to them she gave the tender care of a mother.
She is survived by two brothers, J. K. Molumby of this place; Frank Molumby of Waukon; Mrs. Ella Maher of Chicago and Miss Agnes Molumby of Dubuque, besides a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the local camp of Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and a devout member of the Catholic church.
Funeral services were held here in St. Joseph's church with the Rev. J. P. Taken officiating and interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
