Clayton County Register, Thur. 22 Sept. 1932. Guttenberg column.

Mrs. Bertha Pergande died at her home Saturday p.m. about 4 o'clock. She had been ailing for years and her death had been expected. She was born near Guttenberg in 1888. One son, Raymond, two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Essman of Guttenberg and Mrs. Alvin Primm of Minnesota, and five brothers, Edgar, Harvey, Oscar, Waldeman and Alvin Handke, mourn her death. The funeral was held Tuesday p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran church at two o'clock and the Rev. James Sopko officiated. Burial was made in the city cemetery.
