Littleport, Ia - Charles A. Wegner*, 86, died here Thursday afternoon at the George Boardman home following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the home to the Lutheran Church at 1:30 o'clock with the Rev. J. Buesing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Littleport.

Mr. Wegner was born at Mexico City, Mo., on March 7, 1853 and he moved to Clayton County when a small boy. He operated a stock farm near here, retiring a few years ago.

*Note: On his gravestone the spelling of his surname is Wegener, rather than Wegner as in this obituary.
