Charles F. Hupfer, aged seventy-one, died Monday at the Hupfer home of heart trouble. Last spring he had the flu and never fully recovered from it and although his death was not unexpected it was a shock to many friends and relatives. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Clara Hupfer; one son, Dayton D. Hupfer of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Ernst Kaiser and Miss Hazel Hupfer of Monona; one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Bernhardt of Monona, and five brothers: Geo. Hupfer of Pasadena, California; Arthur Hupfer of Clinton, Iowa; Frank Hupfer of Red Wing, Minn.; and Edward L. Hupfer and Henry Hupfer of Monona; also two grandchildren, Virgil Kaiser and Delpha Kaiser of Monona.
Funeral services were held at 1:45 from the home to the First Methodist church a 2 o'clock with burial in the city cemetery. The large crowd attending the services showed the high esteem in which Mr. Hupfer was held. He was a good neighbor, loving husband and father, and a kind friend.
