GUTTENBERG: The death of Mrs. James Newcomb (nee Blake) former resident of Guttenberg, occurred at her home in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Saturday evening, Aug. 27th, her son, Walter Jenkins of Guttenberg receiving a message to that effect. Mrs. Newcomb had been in poor health for some time _____ _____ by death. She was 73 years old. Mrs. Newcomb was a resident of Clayton for a number of years, but of late years had been a resident of Council Bluffs. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Walter Jenkins of Guttenberg and Charles Jenkins of Dubuque, several grand and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Charles and William Blake, of Clayton, and many other relatives and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed. The funeral was held at Council Bluffs.
