Mrs. John Wahls died at her home in Farmersburg township Thursday, June 19th, after a lingering illness.

Mary Jacobs was born in Mittendorf, Mecklenberg, Germany, on Jan. 13th, 1834. She came to this country in 1850 and five years later was united in marriage to Mr. John Wahls.

Eight children were born to them, five of whom preceded the mother in death. The father died fourteen years ago. Three children: Henry, Mrs. Chas. Meier, Mrs. Bertha Fox, all living near home; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. L. Mundt of Humboldt, S. Dak., are left to mourn.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Braun, were held at St. Paul's Church Sunday afternoon. Interment in the old cemetery.
