Mrs. Henry Steeman died at her home in Britt, Ia., Monday, Dec. 17th.

Etta Schmock was born in Omeeda*, Ia., on June 1st, 1894. On Dec. 3rd, 1916, she was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Steeman at Elkader. This union was blessed with a child on Dec. 12th, 1917, which lived only two days. The mother was stricken with pneumonia and a few days followed her child, dying on Monday, Dec. 17th.

The remains of the child was sent here Saturday, to the home of Mr. M. Steeman, and was buried in the old cemetery Sunday. Wednesday the remains of the mother were brought and on Thursday afternoon funeral services were held by Rev. Braun, at St. Paul's Church. Interment in the old cemetery.

*Possibly Oneida, Delaware co. Iowa. I couldn't find reference to anyplace in Iowa called Omeeda.
