The death of Mrs. George Wentworth (nee Susan Smith), life-long resident and worthy mother, of Millville township, occurred at her home in Millville township last Saturday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock, at the age of 80 years, after an illness of long duration.

Deceased was born on a farm in Millville township, Clayton county, on February 21, 1852. Her entire ambitious and true Christian life was spent in the place of her birth. She was married to George Wentworth, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. She is survived by two sons, Edward Wentworth of Albia, Iowa, and Ea__ Wentworth of Millville township; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kolker of Millville township and Mrs. Anna Graybill of Cassville, Wis., and many other relatives and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. F. Riggs of Des Moines at the Goshen church Monday afternoon. The body was laid to rest in the Goshen cemetery in Millville township. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.
