Clayton County Register, Thur., 26 May 1932.

Dr. G. C. Miller and daughter, Ruth, and J. S. Herboldsheimer attended the funeral of Samuel Davis near Colesburg last Thursday. Mr. Davis died at Elkader Wednesday of last week at the age of 92 years. He was a long-time resident of Clayton county, residing in the Updegraff and Colesburg communities for many years. He was a resident of Guttenberg for a time, and was a man of kind and loving disposition. Of late he had been making his home in Elkader. His occupation was that of a mill-wright, which trade he followed for many years. He had no near relatives.
