Mrs. Julia Densmor Dead

After a sickness of but a few hours that did not indicate any serious trouble, Mrs. Julia A. Densmor died at her home, Monday morning, June 4th, before medical aid could reach her bedside.

Mrs. Densmor lived alone on the south side. She was taken sick in the early morning and by daylight she was able to notify the neighbors and a physician was called. About ten o’clock she was taken worse and a messenger was sent for a physician but death ensued in a few minutes.

Julia Ann Wheeler was born in Perry, New York, March 13th, 1824, she married George Densmor at Perry, N. Y. They later moved to Sharon, Wisconsin and then Edgewood, Iowa, where she lived many years. About fifteen years ago she moved to Lamont where she has since made her home with the exception of a few years she lived away with relatives. She was at one time a member of the Congregational church and afterwards became associated with the Methodist church and took and active part in the work of the church until old age prevented.

Mrs. Densmor was one of a family of eight children, all of whom are dead but one brother, Edwin Wheeler, of Mason City, Iowa who was too feeble to be present at the funeral.

The funeral services were held from the home at 1 o’clock p.m. Tuesday, and were conducted by Rev. W. E. Ross of the M. E. church and interment was made in Strawberry Point Cemetery. –Lamont Leader.
