Clayton County Register, Thur., 5 May 1932.

LUANA: Thursday afternoon, April 28, about 5:30 o'clock, Mrs. William F. Landt died at her home south of Luana at the age of 55 years, two months and 19 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thies and was born in Monona township Feb. 19, 1877. Her religious training was in the Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's congregation at Postville. Feb. 27, 1903, she was united in marriage with Wm. F. Landt. This union was blessed with four children, one preceding her in death. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Landt purchased the old John Garms farm where the deceased lived during the remainder of her life. She had been in poor health for many years with heart trouble, which finally brought on dropsy. She is survived by her husband and three children, Clarence and Mrs. Louis Lenth residing on farms near here, and Helmuth at home; four sisters and two brothers and two grandchildren. Funeral services occurred Sunday afternoon from the Lutheran church in Luana and burial was in the cemetery nearby. Rev. Kumpf, her pastor, officiated.

(Note: She is shown in WPA records as Emma Landt.)
