Clayton County Register, Thur., 28 Apr. 1932. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. Wilhelmina Korpjohn occurred last Thursday after an illness of pneumonia. Funeral services occurred at the Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. O. Jahr. The pall bearers were: John Brockens, Fred Rebaschus, Ferdinand Hoyer, Wm. Reineits, H. K. Opperman and Wm. Imlau. Interment took place in the family lot of our cemetery.
Miss Wilhelmina Scheffler was born in East Prussia, Germany, in 1854. She was united in marriage to Frederick Korpjohn in 1876. In Germany she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. November 2, 1881, they came to the United States and settled at Strawberry Point which has since been the home. Mr. Korpjohn preceded her in death, April 1, 1932. She is survived by one brother, Lee Scheffler of Strawberry Point and many friends. For several years she has been nearly blind. Since her eye sight began to fail, her enjoyment was her home and church which she attended quite regularly. A good woman has gone from us but she has earned her reward.
