Franz Eggerth, who died Friday, April 1st, was born in Volga township, Feb. 15, 1856. He had reached the age of 76 years, one month and 16 days.

Deceased was married Feb. 6, 1884, to Anna Bauer, and to this union three children were born, Mrs. Alex Matt of Volga township; Werner of Elkader, and Edmund of Volga township. These three survive. Mrs. Eggerth died Aug. 25, 1904. Besides his children he is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Edward Eggerth, Renwick, Iowa; Maxie Notestein, Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Lottie Pfeiffer, Casper, Wyo.

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's church in Garnavillo last week Tuesday and interment was made in the Garnavillo cemetery.
