Elmer Henry Christian Possehl was born January 2, 1910, in Cox Creek township and died April 6, 1932, at the home of his parents in Boardman township at the age of 22 years, three months and three days.
He was a son of Henry S. and Wilhelmina Stallbaum Possehl and was baptized July 31, 1910. His mother died July 23, 1912. He had always been healthy and strong until in December 1930, when he started ailing and submitted to an operation January 27, 1931. Receiving no relief, he was taken to Dubuque for further treatment and later to Muscatine, where he remained for several weeks. Nothing seemed to help and he returned home in June, where from then on until the time of his death he was given the best of care by his parents and other relatives.
He leaves to mourn his parents, one half sister, Luella, one half brother, Henry Louis; his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Possehl, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Interment was made in the East Side cemetery. Funeral services were held at the home at 1 o'clock and at the church at 2:00, with the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating.
