Emmett 'Bill' Ryan, 70, of Decorah, formerly of Monona, died Thurs. afternoon, Oct. 12 at University Hospital in Iowa City.

Services were held in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona on Mon., Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. Father Donald Heineman officiated.

Mr. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ryan, a sister & a brother, and a son, Alan.

Surviving are his wife, Stella, 2 daughters, Mrs. John (Kathleen) O'Hara of Decorah, & Mrs. Conrad (Ethna) Bartels, Mt. Prospect, Ill., two sons, Larry of Glendora, Calif., & John of Monona; fourteen grandchildren, four sisters: Margaret Ryan of Monona, Mrs. Edwin (Lorena) Buman of Harlan, Ia., Mrs. Forrest (Mary) McIntosh of Des Plaines, Ill., Mrs. Genevieve Utt, Eden, Idaho; three brothers: Edmund of Monona, Dr. Allen Ryan of Madison, Wis., Dr. Louis Ryan of Edmond, Okla.

Music at the services was provided by organist David Klingeman, and the adult choir.

Pallbearers were Bob O'Hara, Leo Ryan, Harvey Gruber, Wesley Wiedenmann, Delver Johnson, & Eugene Connor.
