Florence McCarthy died at his home near Beulah, April 9, 1907, at the age of 89 years, 7 months.

Mr. McCarthy was born in County Kerry, Ireland, Sept. 1, 1817 and immigrated to America in 1851. He was united in marriage in 1857 at Prairie du Chien, Wis., to Mrs. Katherine Orahen, who preceded him to the grave three years ago.

Six children were born to them, four of whom are still living to mourn his loss; Eugene, of Whitefish, Montana; Edward, of Livingston, Montana; Florence, of Larimore, N.D. and Margaret at home.

Mr. McCarthy was an old and respected citizen of Giard township, honest and upright in all his dealings and will be sadly missed by his friends in the community in which he lived.

The funeral services were held on Thursday at St. Patrick's church, Monona, Rev. Father Hogan officiating, after which interment took place in the Catholic Cemetery.
