August Druecker, 79, retired farmer living in Strawberry Point died at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday March 7, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 10, at 1:30 at St. Sebald Lutheran Church northwest of Strawberry Point. The Rev. Herman Cronrath, pastor, officiated.
Pallbearers were: Les Drahn, Ed Eder, Walter Faust, Hugh Tenney, Stanley Everitt and James Hoskyn. Burial was at St. Sebald cemetery.
Born September 6, 1879, in Braunseweig, Germany, August Druecker was the son of William and Augusta Bergman Druecker. He came to this country in his youth and on September 2, 1909, was united in marriage with Sabina Otdoerfer. They farmed in the St. Sebald vicinity for many years before retiring to Strawberry Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sabina Druecker, Strawberry Point; two sons, Mainard, Strawberry Point and Werner, Arlington; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Orlinda) Weger, Aurora and Mrs. A. L. (Martha) Hock, St. Paul, Minn. six grandchildren and three sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Carolina Bartels, Oelwein; Mrs. Louise Chappell, Strawberry Point and Miss Rose Druecker, Pasadena, California.
