Funeral services for Ernest G. Moser, 82, were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Strawberry Point Monday morning, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery,
Mr. Moser was born at Strawberry Point Feb. 11, 1877, the son of Simon and Anna B. Mosermann Moser. On Oct. 13, 1903, he was married to Rosella Dillon at Manchester. Mr. Moser was in the scrap iron business in Strawberry Point for many years and also owned and operated a well-drilling outfit. Recently he had made his home at a Des Moines nursing home and he died there about 6:30 a.m. Friday, July 17.
Survivors include a son, Cecil Moser of Dubuque; two daughters, Opal Moser of Des Moines and Mrs. Clarence (Fern) Emmons who lives in Louisiana; and two brothers, Sam Moser of Marshalltown and Henry Moser of Strawberry Point. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1952, and a son, Leslie, who died about a year ago. A sister, Mrs. Anna Wenzel of Strawberry Point, preceded his death by only two days, having died at her home on July 15.
