Miss Ida May Anderson, 87, died Oct. 17, 1959, at Waukon.

She was born at Elkader Sept. 30, 1872, the daughter of Hans and Eleanor Clark Anderson. Her parents died when she was only a few years old, and she was reared at the home of her grandparents, the Milo P. Clarks, on the Clark farm northwest of Elkader. Here she grew to womanhood and lived until she went to Kansas to live with her sister Clara, who preceded her in death many years ago.

Most of her life was spent at LeRoy, Kan., where she established a home and cared for and reared two of her nephews.

She lived four years in Elkader and the past three years at the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon.

Besides her sister Clara, her brother Jacob also preceded her in death. She is survived by two nephews, Raymond Anderson of LeRoy, Kan., and Leslie Anderson of Waterville, and a niece, Mrs. Ethel O'Connell of Lynwood, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the Witt Funeral Home at Elkader and interment was in the cemetery of the Norway Church at St. Olaf. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Pallbearers were Joel Clark, Lawrence Gehring, Arthur Schneider, and Jacob Schneider.

Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Johnsrud, Mabel, Minn.; Mrs. Uriel Gehring and baby, Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Anderson, Waterville; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gehring. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gehring, Mrs. Lizzie Schneider, Arthur and Marie, Mrs. Geo. Butikofer, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Schneider, Miss Ella and Isaac Gehring, all of Elgin; Martha Slasvold and Luella Gilbertson, nurses at the Good Samaritan at Waukon, and Arne Sorlien, superintendent at the home at Waukon.
