Callaghan, Michael died 1889

CALLAGHAN

Our community was shocked Thursday morning by the report that Michael Callaghan had been found dead in bed.

Mr. Callaghan was one of the oldest settlers of Volga township, and was one of our most highly respected farmers. He was an honest and upright citizen, and leaves many friends to mourn his sudden death.

He has suffered of heart disease and that was probably the cause of hi death. He was about 70 years of age, and leaves a wife and several children and one brother, Timothy Callaghan, also of this township.

The funeral took place Saturday and was largely attended, Rev. Sheehan officiating.
