On Friday evening, October 19th, 1889, about 10 o’clock, occurred the death of our well known citizen Louis Kassutt, after a short sickness.

Deceased was born in Fellers, Switzerland, in April 1824, and consequently was in his sixty-sixth year at the time of his death. He grew to man’s estate [sic] in his native country, and there was married to his wife who survives him.

In 1860 he came to the United States, locating first at Guttenberg, but three years later came to Boardman township where he resided continuously to the time of his death.

There are left to mourn his death, an aged widow, and four sons, all residents of the county, besides numerous friends. The funeral took place on Sunday morning at ten o’clock a.m., from the Catholic church, Rev. J.F. Reilly originating, and was very largely attended. His remains were laid to their final rest in the Catholic cemetery.
