Funeral rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg for Edwin A. Christen, who died Saturday, July 17, 1976, in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 52 just south of Guttenberg, at age 30.
Services were conducted by Rev. Stan Lillich. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery at Osterdock. Military honors were accorded by members of the Guttenberg post of American Legion.
He was born Nov. 16, 1945, at Postville. His parents, who survive him, are Elmer and Gertrude Palmer Christen.
Other survivors are a sister, Linda Sharp of Guttenberg, and two brothers, Mark of Cedar Rapids and Lyle of Garnavillo.
He graduated from Garnavillo High school, and served in the armed forces from _________ to December, 1969.
His occupation was ______ _____ employed painter.
