Funeral services for Walter G. Jenkins, 74, were held at the Methodist church in Monona on Tuesday afternoon, April 21, with the Rev. E. W. Hilmer, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Monona City cemetery.

Walter G. Jenkins, a son of George and Mary Jenkins, was born on a farm north of Monona Feb. 27, 1879, and died there April 18, 1953. After the death of his father he took over the management of the farm and lived there his entire life.

On June 3, 1908 he was married to Daisy Grace Surring. To them were born four children all of whom survive him: Lyle W. of Florance, Alabama; Delbert W. of Monona; Dayton S. of Moline, Ill., and Bethel D. (Mrs. L. A. Swartz) of Waterloo.

He was a member of the Volney Methodist church and had been active in its improvement for many years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for 50 years.

He wife preceded him in death on February 24, 1924.
