TWO HERE IN ELKADER

George Buchholz Follows His Children to the Grave in Just One Week’s Time

[obituary of Mrs. Wilhelmine Theodor, nee Jahn, wife of William Theodor, married first to Friederich Huebner]

Just one week and a day after two of his children were laid to rest George Buchholz the father followed them to the grave.

George Buchholz was born January 16, 1903 in Chicago, Ill., and died September 3, 1928, in the Clark hospital at McGregor, the victim of dysentery.

Deceased was married December 19, 1923 to Miss Elva Shaw in Elkader and to this union three children were born. Lloyd Verdine, the first-born died when six months of age and Curtis Loraine and Marcella Jane, both of whom were called in death Sunday, August 26, at the age of 1 year, seven months and nine days and two years, eight months and nineteen days respectively.

The mortal remains of the little ones were laid to rest on Tuesday, August 28th, while funeral services for the father were held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 5, in the Ev. Friedens church here, with Rev. C. H. Franke officiating.

Wednesday, Aug. 29th, the parents were taken to the hospital at McGregor, where Mrs. Buchholz is still seriously ill.

Deceased was engaged in the Dittmer Bros. garage and here he was a faithful worker. He was of a quiet and unassuming disposition but easily made friends.

He leaves to mourn his death his bereaved wife, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Buchholz of Guttenberg and his grandmother, Mrs. Julia Buchholz, also of Guttenberg, together with a host of friends and other relatives.
