Mrs. Dora P. Hansel, age 70, a former resident of Clayton County, died at the farm residence four and one half miles north west of Manchester, Monday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m. Although she had been ailing for sometime her death was sudden.
She was born September 9, 1882 at Garber, a daughter of the late John Feidt and Alice Stone, and received her education in the schools of Clayton county.
On January 12, 1902, she was united in marriage to Japen Hansel. Following their marriage they moved to a farm near Garber, where they resided until 1929 when they moved to Greely. They farmed in that locality until 1936 when they moved to a farm north west of Manchester where she has since resided. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary January 12, 1952.
Surviving are her husband, Japen Hansel, Coffins Grove township; four daughters, Mrs. Rex (Clara) King, Boyes Hot Springs, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Hatfield, Manchester; Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Cross, Bridgeville, Pa.; Mrs. Roger (Betty) Fuller, Manchester. Four sons, Leroy and Lloyd Hansel, Elkport; Clifford Hansel, Boyes, Hot Springs, Calif.; and Francis Hansel, Manchester. One great-granddaughter and 32 grandchildren, two brothers, Edmund Feidt, Frank Feidt, Garber; four sisters, Mrs. Earl Hindal and Mrs. Irene Beyers, Des Moines; Mrs. Delbert McDowell, Mederville, and Mrs. Bertha Hansel, Garber.
