Catherine Elizabeth Schoulte was born Oct. 29, 1872, in Farmersburg township. She was the daughter of Frank and Anna Mary Kann Schoulte. She lived on the same farm until 1935 when she moved to Garnavillo. In October 1947 she went to St. Joseph's sanatarium in Dubuque because of failing health, where she resided until her death, Tuesday, May 26.
She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Hilda Egleseder, Garnavillo; Mrs. Grace McLaughlin, East St. Louis, and Mrs. Apolonia Reggnitter of Presho, S. Dak.; and by three brothers; Will of Presho, S. Dak.; Oliver, Monona, and Casper, McGregor; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother, Henry, a brother, Frank, and sisters Philmena, Mary and Lucy.
Out of state relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William Schoulte, Presho, S. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Twombly, Dekalb, Ill., and Carolyn Schoulte, Chicago.
Funeral services were held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church in Garnavillo with the Rev. L. C. Ickel officiating.
