Charles W. Monlux was born March 3, 1873, in Wagner township, Clayton county, the son of William and Pricilla Monlux. He suffered a heart attack and died at his home at 306 North 68th Street, Wauwatosa, Wis., on September 19, 1953.
In the year 1899 he was married to Mayme E. Foran of Elkader. Mr. Monlux had been in the lumber business in Wauwatosa, Wis., before retiring. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America, Camp 319 at Elkader.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Zelma and Dorothy, both living at home; and two brothers, William of Elkader and Delos Monlux of Algona, Iowa.
Funeral services were held from the McTaggart funeral home September 21, with the Rev. Father Gorman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Kenneth Breitsprecher, Carl Rothmeyer, Jim Connell, Jack Connell, Ed Hyde and J. J. Hyde.
Relatives who attended from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Monlux, Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Foran, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Foran, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Foran, Postville.
