Emil Charles Knuth of Austin, Minn., son of Carl and Augusta Knuth, was born January 6, 1872, in Chicago, Ill.
He died Sunday, September 6, at the age of 81 years and 8 months, after a heart attack at the Olson's rest home, where he had spent the past three years at Austin, Minn. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at the Witt's funeral home. The Rev. R. H. Steege of Farmersburg officiated and burial was at the Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery.
He spent part of his youth on a farm with his parents in Wagner township, and then moved to Grand Meadow township and later to Austin, Minn.
He had never married, but was the last of ten children, of whom six died in infancy and youth. Two brothers, Herman of Luana and William of St. Olaf and one sister, Edith Gottschalk of Elkport also preceded him. He is survived by nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Knuth of Luana.
Pallbearers were: Jake Steen, Willis Gottschalk, Arno Gottschalk, Art Knuth, William Knuth and Walter Knuth.
