Ida Josephine Cassidy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin S. McDermott, was born Feb. 22, 1880, at Dubuque, Iowa.

On Nov. 22, 1920, she was married to Andrew J. Cassidy at St. Joseph's church in Elkader. After their marriage they went to farming in Highland township and lived there until 1944, when they moved to their home in Elkader.

Mrs. Cassidy was a member of St. Joseph's church, the Rosary society and St. Joseph's Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin McDermott, five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Cassidy, who had been sick for the past 18 months died at her home Nov. 6, 1953.

Funeral services were held Nov. 9, at St. Joseph's church with the Rev. Father Gorman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Pallbearers were: H. M. Wolf, Wm. Cheeseman, Stephen Donlon, E. A. Burlingame, Walter Kennedy and Ambrose Whittle.

Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Austin Fitzgibbon, Mrs. Virginia McConnell and Mrs. Albert F. Fischer, Des Moines, and Joseph Little and son of Volga.
