Bywater, George 1847-1921

The people of Monona and vicinity were saddened Monday to hear of the death of our fellow townsman, Geo. Bywater. He was stricken with paralysis Thursday and was in a critical condition until the end.

Mr. Bywater was one of our highly respected citizens and one of the few remaining veterans of the civil war.

The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the M.E. Church, the G.A.R. and American Legion escorting the remains to its last resting place.

Fred David was at Postville Friday returning the army rifles borrowed by the American Legion for the Geo. Bywater funeral.
