Mrs. Frances Madden was born in Borriskane, Tipperary, Ireland, in Feb. 1833 and died at the home of Mrs. F.J. Haworth in Monona, Saturday, Jan. 13, 1912, aged 79 years, 11 months.
She came to this country with her brother, when sixteen years of age locating in Jersey City. She was married to Thomas Henderson and came to Monona in 1864, locating on a farm north of the James Canoe place, they afterward bought the farm near Walnut Grove, which was her home until about six years ago, when she came to make her home with Mrs. Haworth.
After the death of Thos. Henderson she was united in marriage to Michael Healy, and after his death she married John Madden, who died about 17 years ago.
All her life she was a devoted member of the Catholic church. Although in failing health, the end was sudden and unexpected. The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church, Monday, Jan. 15th conducted by Father Hogan, burial in the Catholic cemetery.
