Otto John Baumgartner, 62, retired farmer, died Oct. 1, 1953, about 4:00 p.m., in his home at Strawberry Point. Born October 14, 1890, in the St. Sebald community, he was the son of Frederick and Katherine (Weege) Baumgartner. In infancy he was baptized in the Lutheran faith by the Rev. G. H. Fuehr and later confirmed in the same faith in his youth. On Nov. 31, 1916, he was married to Julia E. Fredrick and to this union one son, Donald, was born. They lived on their farm about five miles northwest of Strawberry Point until January of 1935 when they retired to Strawberry Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his bereaved widow, his only son, Donald, one brother, Arthur of Strawberry Point, and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Schuchmann and Mrs. John (Hulda) Weger, both of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Emma Fredrick of Waverly.
