Funeral services for Charles F. Kaiser, 87, were held Thursday, October 1, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church in Monona with the Rev. R. C. Schlueter, pastor, officiating. Burial was in city cemetery.

Mr. Kaiser died Monday, September 28, at the Postville hospital. Death resulted from a fractured hip and wrist following a fall at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eldred Schlitter near Postville.

Mr. Kaiser, a son of John and Margaret, nee Bruns, Kaiser, was born at Clayton, Iowa, April 2, 1866. He was married to Margaret Meyer, Feb. 1_, 1888. They had one son, Alvin, and a daughter, Minnie. Mrs. Kaiser died in 1891 and Minnie in 1895 when she was four years of age.

On Sept. 15, 1892, Mr. Kaiser married Louise Koenig of Postville. One son and one daughter were born to them.

From the time of his first marriage until the spring of 1943, Mr. Kaiser lived on the homestead east of Monona. Since 1943 he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Eldred Schlitter, near Postville.

He had been a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church for 65 years. His second wife preceded him in death April 6, 1930. In addition to his first wife, and daughter Minnie, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Music at the service was provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. R. C. Schlueter, Mrs. Clarence Neverman, Donald Rossbach, and Keith Lunde, accompanied by Mrs. George Heins Jr., organist.

Pallbearers were: Lyle Pape, Harold Klinkel, Reuben Hoth, Gaylord Schlitter, Merle Miller, Emil Carlson and Lynn Hangartner.
