LuVerne Jerome Barth, age 67, of Monona, Iowa died Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa following a long illness. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 17 at the Leonard Funeral Home in Monona with Pastor Eugene Kramer officiating. Burial was at Taylorsville Cemetery in Arlington, Iowa.

LuVerne Jerome was born on May 11, 1938 in Winneshiek County, Iowa to Dale and Janet (Barth) Ashline. After graduating from the Monona High School, he entered the military service serving in the United States Navy for two years. Following his time in service, due to health, LuVerne spent the remainder of his life in residential care.

LuVerne is survived by his two sisters Joneita (Bob) Wagner of Monona, Marian (Floyd) Buhr of Farmers Branch, Texas, and a brother Clifford (Karen) Higgins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa in addition to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
