Bruce Allen Hawkins, age 63, of Strawberry Point,Iowa died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic, Iowa City, Iowa. Services were held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, Strawberry Point. Burial will be at a later date.

Bruce was born August 24, 1952 to Roy A. and Marjorie M. (Erickson) Hawkins. Bruce was in the Navy during the Vietnam conflict with home port in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of forty years; his special friend and buddy, his dog Diablo "Mr. D."; his brother Jerry (Ginny) Hawkins of Strawberry Point and his sister, Linda Schmitt of Wadena, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Kirk Hawkins in 1993; a daughter Dreama Standridge in 2005; and two brothers Bert Hawkins and Duane Hawkins.

NOTE OF THE TRANSCRIBER: The obituaries for his parents can be found on IaGenWeb-Fayette County and his parents and brother Duane are buried in the Taylorsville Cemetery in Arlington, Iowa.
