Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Obermueller have been called upon to mourn the demise of their oldest son Peter. He was a hearty, well appearing young man but subject to occasional epileptic attacks which began at the age of nine, and although of late years becoming less frequent in occurrence, they were more severe.
On Saturday, the 27th of April, he seemed in unusual good cheer and busied himself all day in the field and in doing odd jobs about the home. In the evening, while feeding the cattle, death came to him suddenly and his mother found him lying on his face with the hay fork beside him thus showing no evidence of struggle.
This was certainly a severe shock to the family, but realizing that he was freed from all ailment and knowing that "The Lord doeth all things well" they were able to bear so sad and sudden bereavement.
Peter was born Aug. 5th, 1887. He was confirmed by Rev. Sommerlad in St. Peter's Lutheran church in the spring of 1902 and remained a loyal and faithful member. His brief existence extended over a period of 19 years, 8 months and 22 days.
Burial took place last Wednesday, May 1st, Rev. M. O. Poehl conducting the services at the house, church and cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the surviving family, which consists of the parents, one brother, William, and four sisters, viz, Anna, Augusta, Mary and Minna.
