GEUDER RITES WILL BE HELD THURSDAY
Well Known Woman Taken by Death on Monday
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at two o’clock for Mrs. Louis Geuder, well known resident of the Guttenberg community for many years who died Monday at 5:15 p.m. following a long illness.
The services at St. John’s Lutheran church will be conducted by Rev. William Domres, pastor, and burial will be in the Guttenberg City cemetery in charge of H.L. Beerman, a nephew of Mrs. Geuder.
Pallbearers for the services all will be grandsons of Mrs. Geuder and will be Kenneth Nuehring, Dougle Mehle, Merlin Geuder, Donald Geuder, Richard Geuder and Ronald Kann.
Mrs. Geuder was born in Glen Have, Wisconsin, September 17, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Seippel. On April 2, 1891, she was married to Louis Geuder in Guttenberg.
Mrs. Geuder is survived by eleven children, four sons and seven daughters. The sons are Ernest, Clarence, and John of Guttenberg and Otto of Waukon. The daughters are Anna Geuder, Mrs. Verni (Louisa) Nuehring and Mrs. Ted (Matilda) Kann of Guttenberg; Mrs. H. (Amelia) Merholtz of Elmhurst, Illinois; Mrs. G. (Amanda) Pladna of Villa Park, Illinois; Mrs. H.R. (Martha) Scollard of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and Mrs. H.C. (Lillian) Mehle of Chicago, Illinois.
Twenty-eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Geuder died ten years ago, while she also was preceded in death by her sister and brother. Her twin sister, Mrs. Ernst Geuder, died 17 years ago.
Mrs. Geuder has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Verni Nuehring where she has been bedfast for the past seven months. She was a member of the St. John’s ladies’ aid and of the church.
