Hans R. Hanson was born in Skien, on the 14th of November, 1854, and came to this country about the year 1875, settling in Clayton county, where he later married Kjirstid Johnson, daughter of Fingar and Ingrid Johnson. To them were born six children, namely, Robert, Ford, Ida, Otto, Martha and Charles. His wife preceded him in death in the year 1910 and his daughter, Ida, in 1920. With the exception of Ford, who lives in San Francisco, Calif., the children reside in this county.

He has been in his usual health up to noon on Wednesday, August 17, when he complained of not feeling as well as usual. In less than an hour he had gone back to the Lord who gave him life.

He leaves to mourn his sudden death the children, one grandson and one brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday August 20th from the house at 9:30 a.m. and about 11:00 a.m. at the Norway church, with Rev. Arvesen officiating. The services were largely attended.
