Ted Kann Services Held at St. Mary

Services for Theodore E. “Ted” Kann, 82, of Guttenberg were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at St. Mary Catholic Church and were conducted by Father Paul Peters.

Mr. Kann died Friday, Dec. 9, 1988 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery with the following pall bearers: Tom Hoeger Jr., Kevin, Keith, Tom, Steve and Henry Kann.

The scripture wake service was held Sunday evening at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Mr. Kann was a son of Godfriet H. and Carolyna (Matt) Kann and was born May 2, 1906 in Guttenberg. He was married in Dubuque Sept. 12, 1930 to Mathilda Geuder, who died Nov. 24, 1988. Mr. Kann was employed at the John Deere Dubuque works before he retired.

He is survived by one son, Ronald Kann of Dubuque, and one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Marlene) Hoeger of New Vienna; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and six sisters.
