Elkader Register, Thur., 12 May 1921. Marquette column.

Henry Schaefer, one of our oldest residents, passed away at his home, April 30, 1921. For the past three months he had been in poor health and only the faithful and tender care of members of his family had preserved his life so long. He was just passed sixty-nine years, having been born Feb. 2, 1852, near Eden, Germany.
