Garber: Robert Fishel, a son of Jacob and Emma Fishel, was born near Wood Center, Iowa, on July 2, 1880, and passed quietly from this world on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1935, having attained the age of 55 years, five months and 14 days.
He was reared according to the Methodist faith at the church in Wood Center. Mr. Fishel lived most of his life in Elk township, and was a good father and homemaker. A slight cold developed into heart trouble, which caused his death.
On Nov. 24, 1909, he was united in marriage with Emma Boehm. He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, two sons and one daughter, Leon and Robert Louis and Mrs. Arthur Krieg; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Webber of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Homar Smock of Greeley, Iowa; a brother, Louis, of Wilton, Minn.; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Though his presence has been removed, his memory will always be cherished by all who knew him. Funeral services were held in St. John's Evangelical Church in Garber, Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Burial was in Mt. Harmony cemetery, Rev. H. Hohman officiating.
