Garnavillo: Joseph H. Walleser died Thursday evening at ten o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. C. H. Kuenzel, 996 Cleveland Avenue, Dubuque, after a two months' illness.
He was born in Garnavillo on December 10, 1856. He was a tinner by trade and later opened a hardware store in Garnavillo which he operated until two years ago, when he went to Dubuque to make his home with his sister.
Surviving him are one daughter, Miss Ina Walleser, Davenport, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Schumacher, Garnavillo, and Mrs. C. H. Kuenzel, Dubuque. His wife and a daughter, Mrs. C. L. Henry, preceded him in death.
The body was removed to the W. B. Kuenzel home at Garnavillo where funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. Lester Kuenzel of Columbia college, Dubuque, officiating.
Relatives from out of town in attendance were: Ina Walleser of Davenport; Mrs. A. A. Trebon and children, Elaine, Vernard, and Rosemary, from Dubuque; Fred, Hubert and Mrs. Alfred Schoellerman and the last named's son, William, from Lake Park; H. M. Walleser of Charles City; Mrs. Roy Waite, and Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson of Nashua; Edward Haeuschen of Clayton; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walleser of West Union; Mr. and Mrs. M. Geraghty of Elkader.
