Henry J. Bottelman, prominent farmer of near Edgewood, died very suddenly at his home Oct. 26, 1935, at 3:30 a.m. His sudden death came as a shock not only to his family but to the entire community.
Henry J. Bottelman, son of Herman and Marie (Fick) Bottelman, was born in Sperry township, Clayton county, Iowa, Feb. 17, 1876, and at the time of his death had reached the age of 59 years, eight months and nine days.
Feb. 19, 1910, he was united in wedlock to Miss Rhoda Lamphere of Cox Creek township, and to this union six children were born
He leaves to mourn his sudden death, his widow, Mrs. Rhoda Lamphere; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Plagman of Edgewood, Bertha and Pauline at home; three sons, Henry of Edgewood, Louie and Albert at home; two brothers, Herman, Northwood, Iowa, and John, Bellevue, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. John Gentz and Mrs. Charles Stone of Edgewood, Mrs. Mattie Pollack of Oelwein, and Mrs. Lizzie Ross of Austin, Minn.; two grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, with burial at Mederville, the Rev. F. E. Damm officiating.
